Lieutenant General Sir Peter W. Graham, Colonel
KCB, CBE, DLit (hon.)
From the very outset, Bydand Forever has believed that the best way to
pay tribute to The Gordon Highlanders would be to focus on the ranks.
As such, we have no regular officers but rely instead on the
steadiness of our Non-Commissioned Officers for day to day operations.
In the British Regimental system, however, each regiment has a Colonel
who serves as a advisor and 'father figure.' Sir Peter has been
extremely supportive of Bydand since the very early years, and
continues to be an inspiration. As such, he has served as our
Colonel since July, 1997. Colonel Graham has the distinction
of being the last Colonel of The Gordon Highlanders. |

Colour-Sergeant Gary Harper One of the founders of
Bydand Forever, C/Sgt Harper is the materials and weaponry expert of
the unit. He has amassed the largest single collection of
Martini-Henry rifles, as well as an amazing range of other firearms
from muskets to tanks. In recent years, he has taken to
providing weapons and expertise to the film industry, including a
five-week stint for Tom Cruise's The Last Samurai. His
sharp sense of humor and generally questionable drill keeps the unit
in hysterics for much of the time. |
|
Sergeant Dave Roe, Sergeant of Musketry Sgt Roe comes to us with
the very unique qualification of having served as a Drill Instructor
for the famous Fort Henry Guard in Kingston, Ontario. Working in
combination with C/Sgt Harper's armory and Sgt Inlett's administrative
skills, Sgt Roe completes the leadership troika. Living and
working in Tucson, AZ, he has started up the Tucson branch of the
organisation, which provides a very welcome set of skills and
comraderie. Perhaps the highest praise he has earned was during
the 1994 trip. While conducting drill at the Bridge of Don
barracks, one of the regular battalion sergeants was heard to say,
'You could teach a thing or two about marching to our lads!' |
