Welcome...

There is no doubt that Winston Churchill's description of The Gordon Highlanders summarizes the regiment's entire 200 year history.  This section of the Bydand Forever web site is dedicated to the officers and men who served with the regiment; we hope that the brief introduction provided here will help the present and coming generations to understand and appreciate their many years of faithful service and their contributions to the North East of Scotland.  The menu selection to the left will help you find the essential information on...

'...the finest regiment that ever was.'

Colours of the 92nd Highlanders.  During the 1881 reorganisation, the 75th (Stirlingshire) and 92nd (Gordon Highlanders) were welded to create a new, single regiment.  Though the 75th was the 'senior' battalion, and became 1st/Gordon, it was the ethos and patterns of the 92nd that came to form the heart of the regiment.
